Battery electric vehicles, or BEVs for short, use energy that is stored in batteries and charged via the power grid. An electric vehicle with fuel cell technology (FCEV), on the other hand, is powered by hydrogen. The drive train is electric. This hydrogen is converted into electricity during the journey by means of a fuel cell, which charges a small battery. The powertrain draws its energy from this battery.
