Comparison of e-trucks: Designwerk publishes consumption analysis 2023

07.03.2024 – Designwerk e-trucks are now on the road throughout Europe and cover a wide range of applications. From municipal recycling vehicles and semitrailer tractors in distribution logistics to carriers in long-distance transport and special vehicles on construction sites or in forestry logistics – the possible applications are diverse.

To provide an insight into the performance of Designwerk e-trucks in various areas of application, the company is publishing data here on the blog for the first time. This data comes from the internal monitoring tool and provides an exclusive insight into the consumption values of customer vehicles. This information, which is normally only made available to Designwerk customers, shows the real consumption values from nine different application categories of e-trucks in daily use in 2023. With this publication, Designwerk creates transparency and offers users and interested parties valuable insights into the performance and efficiency of e-trucks.

The evaluation demonstrates that the consumption of an electric truck always depends on the tonnage and the application. Experience shows, for example, a consumption of 120 kWh per 100 kilometers in long-distance transport with curtainsider trailers. Electric car transporters, on the other hand, consume around 140 kWh per 100 kilometers and electrified waste collection vehicles up to 220 kWh per 100 kilometers.
