Bronto Skylift, a leading global supplier of access platforms and Designwerk technologies, will be presenting a world first at Bauma in Munich in April 2025: the first fully electric e-truck with an aerial work platform and a maximum working height of 56 meters.
In close cooperation with the long-established Swiss company Rohr AG, a leading provider of professional cleaning services, and Designwerk Technologies AG, the Finnish company Bronto Skylift has developed an electrically powered aerial work platform in combination with an all-electric truck. This innovative solution combines the proven reliability and performance of Bronto aerial work platforms with the benefits of an emission-free and quiet drive from Designwerk.
“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers an environmentally friendly alternative without compromising on performance. This is an important step towards a more sustainable future for the industry. In addition, Rohr AG’s initiative was crucial to the development of this product and we thank Designwerk for the successful collaboration,” says Dominik Keller, Global Access Segment Director at Bronto Skylift.
The newly developed e-truck is based on the proven MC 8x2R model from Designwerk and, with a 500 kWh battery, offers enough capacity for a full working day – both for driving and for use with the lifting platform – without local CO2 and noise emissions.
The electric drive system with four powerful motors ensures high efficiency and quiet operation. The electric auxiliary drive provides the necessary power for demanding lifting work. Together with the crane’s impressive climbing ability, this gives you a decisive advantage for use in urban environments.
In Switzerland, more and more large cities are demanding low CO2 emissions from their service providers. “In the future, our customers will demand electric vehicles across the board, a trend that we have been observing for several years. With this project, we are showing that we are taking a pioneering role in low-emission solutions,” explains Patrick Dörge, Chief Operating Officer of Rohr AG.
From April 7, the vehicle will be on display in Munich at Bronto Skylift’s outdoor stand FS.1203/3. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn first-hand from experts about the vehicle and the possibilities of zero-emission commercial vehicles in special applications.
With the launch of this innovative e-truck, Designwerk is setting another milestone in electromobility for special applications. Experience the future of zero-emission lifting at Bauma 2025!
