With the world’s first electric tractor unit with a battery capacity of 1,000 kilowatt hours, Swiss electromobility specialist Designwerk is bringing innovation for long-distance transport to the road. Depending on the region and route, you can drive with up to 50 tons total train weight.
Maximum performance with minimum emissions
Unmatched e-range With the 1000 kWh battery capacity, you can drive 630 kilometers with a total towing weight of 42 tons, and 560 kilometers with a total towing weight of 50 tons. No one gets that far.
In combination with the charging power of 350 kW, the HIGH CAB Semi 6x2T 1000E from Designwerk not only covers long distances without recharging, but also recharges almost half of the battery capacity during the steering break. With Mega Charging, 36 minutes will be enough for a full charge in the future. From the beginning of 2024, the 1000 kWh configuration will be drivable throughout Europe with ISO trailers.
Strong performance The four electric drive motors put 680 hp on the road with 5 times the efficiency of the diesel equivalent. The continuously variable transmission ensures jolt-free starting and the unique recuperation pedal ensures maximum driving comfort. Together with the unique ranges, our e-trucks are more than a diesel replacement.
Saved emissions In operation, our e-trucks do not cause any local emissions. This way our environment is not polluted with soot particles, NOx, CO2 and engine noise. The vehicle batteries can be reused as stationary storage in a second life and subsequently recycled. In the well-to-wheel analysis, the electric tractor unit consumes up to 79% less CO2 emissions than a model with conventional drive, depending on the country and electricity mix.
High efficiency Thanks to their high efficiency and the elimination of fossil fuels, Designwerk vehicles have low variable operating and maintenance costs. In addition, you as a company benefit from the image boost and – depending on the country – from tax advantages or the waiver of heavy goods traffic, incentive taxes and tolls. In Switzerland, you save about 150,000 CHF per year in variable costs.
