Our Story

Designwerk was founded in Winterthur in 2007. From the beginning, the goal was to push electromobility forward with innovative products and make them more appealing to the general public.

The inclusive Designwerk approach, where engineering and product design are very closely interconnected, helped the young company quickly gain a good reputation.

The Zerotracer cabin motorcycle, used for the first purely electric circumnavigation, generated special attention. Next came the DXP postal delivery vehicle, an indoor go-kart, the first 18t electric commercial vehicle, and numerous other vehicle conversions.

Designwerk is now a centre of excellence for integrating high efficiency propulsion technologies, for the structural design of power trains, for building high-capacity batteries, and for manufacturing chargers for electric vehicles.

Our values

Principled commitment to accessible electromobility.

«The world today already has more sockets than petrol pumps.»
